Yes, these can be installed immediately downstream of a pump discharge.
Our valve's pressure/temperature ratings are compatible with most (standard) centrifugal/low pulsation pumps, so you will just want to make sure their pump isn't special or high velocity.
Those occasionally require a specialty check valve.
